What We've Been Up To

I'm going to begin this blog post with a comment about the weather. North Carolina's weather is similar to Michigan's, in that it's sunny and warm some days and then completely gray, gloomy, and cold like today. However, it's currently snowing in Michigan and not in NC...so that's a bonus. Alright, weather comment over.

These last two weeks have been insanely busy. I feel like ever since we moved back to the US, it's been 'insanely busy.' We've been checking out the local area, trying to get our house furnished, and learning how to get around Raleigh without depending on our GPS too much. I'm happy to announce that Matthew and I made it to the grocery store the other day without having to ask Siri!

Lake Johnson Park has become our go-to recreation spot to take our dogs, (and ourselves), for a little exercise. Rhiannon, Matthew, and I have already been on a few family walks. It's such a great area for a leisurely jaunt because the trails are beautiful, and the views of the lake remind me a little of my Mitten state. Oh! And one thing I have noticed, is that Raleigh people are quite active! Every single time that we've been to the lake, the parking lots are full, and there are a ton of people walking, running, chatting, fishing, etc. I think this is awesome. I'm happy to see people out and about. Kudos, Raleigh folks, kudos.

We also wandered out to a farmer's market that's just a few miles from us. It was amazing! I feel so blessed to be able to have access to such great foods again. I miss St. Kitts, but I do not miss the overpriced food and lack of variety.

As usual, here are some photos...enjoy.

Matty loves America!

I just love that photo of Matty near the beer. He is addicted to going to the grocery store. Thank goodness he started his clinical rotations, or he'd be at the store every day...
